Preparation

As the sun rose on September 8th, 2023, the team at Tiny Temple Plantation began preparations for the Buddhist blessing ceremony. Everyone was excited as they had been waiting for this day for months. The Monk's Arrival

As the guests arrived, the team greeted them warmly and accompanied them to their seats. Suddenly, a group of monks in their saffron robes entered the plantation, and everyone stood up to welcome them. The eldest monk, Pra Kru Prasit, led the ceremony.

 

The Blessing

The ceremony began with Pra Kru Prasit leading the group of monks in chanting prayers for the kratom trees' growth and protection. The team knelt before the monks, and Pra Kru Prasit sprinkled holy water over them, marking the start of the blessings. He walked through the plantation, sprinkling holy water on each tree, blessing them one by one.

 

The Ceremony

As the ceremony progressed, the team presented the offerings to the monks, including food, fruits, and flowers. The monks' blessings were then returned to the team, who were given blessed water and strings to wear as protection from harm.

 

The Celebration

After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a celebratory feast featuring traditional Thai food and shared stories and laughter. The plantation team served hot and cool beverages, including kaffir lime juice, which is a popular drink in Thailand.
